Guardianship

Finding a good Guardianship service, which can really look after your son or daughter at school in England can be a tremendous help in ensuring their success.

A guardian becomes your personal UK representative once your child is in their care. They will act on your behalf to make sure that your child is happy, healthy and safe whilst studying in the UK. They are able to authorise medical treatment and other practical needs that your child may have, ensuring that their welfare is attended to in all situations.

What A Guardian Does

• Welcome your son or daughter at the airport;
• Arrange transport to their school if required;
• Take them to their school and see them settled;
• Offer a choice of host families for your child to stay with during half term and at term start/end;
• Attend school functions when requested;
• Look after your child's interest if a medical or other emergency arises during term-time;
• Organise transport needed both during term and at the beginning and end of term.

- and last, but by no means least:

• Be on the end of a telephone/fax or e-mail for you or your child if there is a worry or problem, or simply just to talk.
